Reduce turbo lag and extend the life of your turbo with a blow off valve.

What is a blow off valve? Click here to find out.

Michaels Motorsports now provides blow off valve kits for the Esprit. The blow off valve has a tough alloy casing comes in an anodized black finish and is a fully serviceable, unlike many other aftermarket valves available. The valve can be fitted with internal springs of varying stiffness to control the pressure sensitivity of the valve. A very stiff spring is used in this kit to provide crisp response at 20psi and is suited to Esprits running maximum boost pressures in the region of 1 to 1.3 bar. When the valve dumps a clear and audible "pfffft" sound is made as the high pressure air is dumped to the atmosphere.

The blow off valve is fitted just after the chargecooler unit and before the secondary injectors (via a matching black silicone T-piece), so that clean air is dumped safely. Other valve location can result in air being dumped while fuel is present in the mixture.

The valve can also be used in a compressor by-pass valve configuration by re-routing the valve exhaust to the airbox. This type of installation means that there will be no audible "pffft"  sound when the air is dumped from the valve.

Installation is very easy and requires about 30 mins to install for a novice. Requires the removal of two 13mm nuts, hose clamps and adding a vacuum T hose. The car can also be easily reverted to stock in the same amount of time.
